Important things to know about this event!

• A Tomb Raider Quilt Along #tombraiderqal was designed and tested (twice!) by Jeanie Payment (@jeaniepayment). 
• All posts will go live weekly on Wednesdays at 8 am CST, June 3, 2026 - September 30, 2026.
• All blocks are paper pieced.
• Blocks vary in size. Please see each week's post for details.
• Use these QUILT LAYOUT OPTIONS to plan your quilt. The optional border was created using the Runic Alphabet by Jennifer Ofenstein (used with permission). Additional patterns will be linked during the events.

• Patterns are rated 1 out of 5 by difficulty (1 being the simplest, 5 being the most complex).

My husband is a Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer fanatic! He especially likes Yukon Cornelius. Some say they look alike! He's got shirts, pajama pants, door hangers, magnets, and even knows the words to the TV show by heart!  Imagine my surprise when I discovered you had free patterns for all the characters. I just knew I had to make a quilt even though paper piecing was not my favorite style of making blocks. 

I wanted it to be a surprise so I could only sew when my husband was gone. We are both retired so that was a challenge finding alone time. But I did! It took me almost a year to get it done. I even had some of my quilting friends help me rip the paper off. I gave it to him for Christmas last year and he uses it every single day. I love how much he supports my quilting lifestyle.
